About DRC

Confidentialiry and Security

Print Version

With years of managing confidential databases for large-scale testing and survey research projects, including government research, we have fine-tuned our security systems, disaster recovery processes, and confidentiality procedures to be the best in the industry.

Security
We enforce strict security measures to prohibit unauthorized access to client materials.
All employees sign a confidentiality and security agreement and ensure privacy of all data, at all levels, at all times.
All employees wear picture identification badges. Visitors sign in and are accompanied by a DRC employee.
Non-project personnel are accompanied by a project manager in the receiving, check-in, document processing, or materials assembly areas.
All incoming and outgoing shipments are “logged in” and “logged out.”
Client documents and products are stored in locked files when not in use.

Data Protection
Data protection measures include:
Hardware. Servers and network systems are in secure, locked rooms with controlled key card access. Network redundancy protects data.
Data. Each user has a unique password that is changed every 90 days. Nightly, weekly, and monthly archive backups ensure against loss of data. We store one copy of all weekly backups in a secure on-site vault and a second copy in an off-site vault.
Virus Protection. DRC uses virus-scanning software at four levels: Servers, exchange server, E-mail attachment gateway, and workstations. Our vigilance in virus scanning pays off. We have no known instance of transmitting a virus outside our network, although we have received, scanned, and destroyed several viruses that have been transmitted to us.
Business Continuity. DRC has a number of contingencies in place to ensure continuity of service in a crisis or disaster. On- and off-site vaults protect backup data. We stock spare parts and components so that we will have minimal downtime in case of a hardware failure. In addition, we maintain a diesel-powered generator to provide a stand-alone power system, if needed.
